The 7.8 magnitude New Zealand earthquake on 14 November 2016 caused extensive damage to property, closing businesses and transport links and killing two people. It also caused landslides on the coast north of Kaikoura. The landslides formed an "island" with a number of cows stranded on it. Watch the video below by SA V-DEO.
